With us in the middle of the fall the scarf season has already started and i have already had my first show , which went well! and i have another one around the corner!'

Replenshied Refresh and Reset

It's now crunch time and I'm so organized that I'm board with my game plan. I started to venture out and try baby sweaters and I'm surprised at what i am capable of.  The fist one came out pretty good and it only took 3 hours. With me feeling a lack of creativity browsing thru knitting books at work have replenished creative juices and got my fingers working faster then my eyes. It just feels so refreshing knowing that all i needed was something to refresh me, and that the creativity in me has not died.

I'm so happy i just finished my first baby sweater.. now on to bigger and better things!

With summer closely approaching I continue kitting hoping to create some items that one can wear in the spring and still look fashionable.  The small emergence of some light weight items are what has come from this brain storm.  The hats and scarves are made out of light weight yarn; you can rock these items to complement any ensemble. 

Nestology

I went to this amazing store today with a friend and was so inspired with the bright colors. The fact that its an art collective store, with a bunch of underground artist.  all of the bright items and the fact that they were hand made held a special place in my heart.  Creations soon on the way !pictures soon to follow!

with spring on the way... i need your help

With spring around the corner I am trying to brain storm some ides. And I am also trying to get an idea what colors people see them self in this spring. Help me out and comment on this blog. These are the colors of spring which ones do you like? What colors would you match them with?

 

Is black history month for adults too???

This has been eating at me for over a year. I don’t want to state what company I work for but I will say is what they stand for is American heritage. But I realized that they do nothing for African American history month, there is no recognition at all. They do all types of fun things for employees during the year like raffles, send out riddles or little known facts daily to keep the company morale up but nothing for black history month. Does black history only matter for the children and once we reach adult hood there is no need to continue to share the knowledge? All I can say as African American women I still learn something new each black history month, I wonder if other want to also?

Crunch Time!

Its crunch time and I have less then two weeks till my show and I still have 15 items to go. I just orders more yarn but I am scared that it won’t get here in time… and I need it so that I can make this special scarf for my upcoming show.  Cross ya fingers that I’m able to get it done.

New order

I just order some new yarn and it just showed up at my door step. 

I have no idea right now what I'm going to create with this. i guess i will just have to brainstorm while at work tomorrow.

The Dawn of a New Day

I was able this Sunday to really get quite a few items done today. I was also able to bounce ideas off of friends and family. So many ideas floating around cant wait till this show is over so i can start this new line of Fuzzy flirt.   Check out the other page for some of the new items i created.

Sorry to say i did have work today .... so my inspiration is still inside of me but hey i not a machine!

I have now caught a cold and keep on envisioning me in something supper soft but colorful. One to keep me warm and two to keep my spirits up while I sneeze my life away. ( and no I did not contaminate the  items I am working on.  Pictures soon to follow… and I mean soon if I get a snow day tomorrow…. Keeping fingers crossed!

Bland Scenery: a source of inspiration

With all the snow we have been getting it's been giving me inspiration to create something of color. Something bright, not necessarily warm but just bright. As I observe the knit accessory that people have on i wonder first can i make it and second how can i put a twist on it to make it my own.

Taking pictures with my camera and seeing these icicle inspires me to create items with a line type of design. 

its amazing that the little thinks can have a big impact.

African American History Month

My creativity gets to show its face but at a limited capacity. I will be doing a show in New Jersey but it is not opened to the public. It looks likes this will be my biggest show to date, and it is free to have a table there. Any African Americans business owners are interested this even please let me know and I will email you the info. They do need more vendors.

Torn

With the responsibly of trying to start my own business comes stress and the feeling of being overwhelmed on any given day. I have incoming orders that need to be filled and I have shows that I want to do. I am only one person and can only do but so much with a full time job.  I feel the inspiration within me but with the same boring requests I feel torn between following my inspiration or just the easiest/ quickest way to make money.  

Who is Fuzzy? Who is Flirt?

Fuzzy Flirt (and yes is it all one statement, like a pimp named slick back) is an up and coming title of my company that creates and sells custom had knit items. I do take orders but this blog is more for me to share my journey through the different items i create throughout the year.... that is all for now!
